CFFG’s website for children

www.cornwallfoodandfarming.net is all about farming in Cornwall and how the food it produces arrives on your plate. With loads of photos, games, recipes and sound effects as well, the website is an informative and fun way for primary school aged children to get a better understanding of agriculture and food production in Cornwall. As well as information on what is happening on the farm and what produce is in season, there is a list of farms to visit, background stories about iconic Cornish foods and a monthly archive of things to look out for.

The website construction has been paid for by funds raised by CFFG members and with sponsorship from the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association and other members of the agricultural community.

Working with professional advice from teachers,

CFFG have drawn on the expertise and experience of its members in farming, food production and food preparation to produce a resource which they hope children, teachers and families will find useful and enjoy using.

Free colourful activity sheets filled with games, activities and information about farming in Cornwall are now available. There is one about dairy farming in Cornwall, one about the wheat harvest and a brand new one on sheep. Aimed at under 10s, they would be ideal to put in farm holiday cottages catering for families with young children. You can get copies from the show office or from CFFG via email info@cornwallfoodandfarming.org or website Contact page.
